"Be A HERO (Australia), Eagles Wings and Micah Challenge have partnered to raise public awareness of the United Nations Millenium Development Goals and lobby the Government to keep poverty reduction at the forefront of their agenda and hold to their commitment."

In total 18 adults and 6 children are participating in Break the Cycle. Leaving Brisbane to Canberra and are being joined by other cyclists along the way. Leaving Brisbane on 28 September 2008, the team aim to highlight the plight of millions of children around the world who live in abject poverty and promoting a solution to hunger, disease and lack of opportunity in the form of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. These eight goals set out to halve world poverty by 2015.
